Dentrix New Workstation Setup
The workstation install tool allows you to install a new workstation by running a single executable. It will locate the server on the network, or prompt for a name if it can not. Once a server is selected, the install will continue.
For a video walkthrough on how to use the tool, please visit The video Link
1. To use the tool, first download the executable to the new workstation from this link: https://dentrix.com/support/WorkstationSetupLauncher.exe This will be an automatic download. Check your browser downloads if you do not see it or the Downloads folder on the computer.
2. Once downloaded, launch the executable. The tool will look for servers on the network, and when it finds one, it will show the following dialog:
3a. If this is the correct server name, then click Install using this Dentrix Server
3b. If this is not the correct server name, then click Search for additional Dentrix servers. The tool will then search for and display the next server it finds, if one exists.
3c. If it can not find one, or if you click Manually enter your Dentrix server name. Then, the following dialog is shown:
Typing in the name and clicking OK will then start the install.
Notes:
If the workstation needs to prompt for a username or password to access the server, it will open the Windows dialog to enter this information. The username and password should be a combination that exists on the server. (I.e. you could log into the server using this username and password combination). Be sure to check "Remember your credentials" or it will prompt you every time you open Dentrix. If you do not know this information, please refer to your IT or hardware support.
To Find your server name:
1. From an already connected workstation that is working, open Office Manager | Maintenance | Practice Setup | Preferences
2. Click the Paths tab at the top. Find the line that says Database Server
