Dentrix G7.4+ "Vital Service for Dentrix is Not Running..." or " is Missing"
The following error may appear when (1) upgrading or installing Dentrix, or (2) opening Dentrix modules.
'A Vital Service is missing' or '
A vital service required for Dentrix is not running.'

If trying to start service manually (without rebooting the machine it happens on), you may see:

Reboot the affected computer. This usually will restart the Dentrix Client Service.

Open Dentrix.
If the issue is not resolved, try the following:
- Go to Start
- Search for services.msc
- The Services window will open
- Locate Dentrix Client Service
- Right click on the name and select Start
- Under the Startup Type column, make sure it is listed as Automatic for the Dentrix Client Service.
- If it is not set to Automatic, right click on Dentrix Client Service and select Properties
- Under Startup Type in the General tab, choose Automatic from the drop down menu
- Click Apply, then OK
- Open Dentrix
